Woodward, Oklahoma - Wanda Slattery, 87 year old Woodward resident passed away, Thursday, August 1, 2024 in Oklahoma City. A prayer vigil will be held at 6:00 pm Tuesday, August 6, 2024 in the St. Peter Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, August 7, 2024 in the St. Peter Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

Wanda Jean (Barker) Slattery was born March 20, 1937 to Chester Barker and Nadine (Gahaggen) Clifton in Young County, Texas. She grew up in Bryson, Texas and graduated from Bryson Public Schools. Wanda later attended Texas Women's College in Denton, Texas. She was united into marriage to Pete Roberts in Bryson, Texas. The couple made their home in Bryson and were blessed with three children. Wanda was later united into marriage to James Slattery on December 31, 1990 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Wanda lived in Bryson, Texas, Louisiana and Bridgeport, Texas before settling in Woodward with James.

Wanda worked as a secretary and stayed home to help take care of her children and grandchildren. She loved to read and travel around the world with her husband, James. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

She was preceded in death by her father, Chester Barker, mother and step father, Nadine and John Clifton and one brother, Royce Clifton.

Wanda is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Jim Slattery of the home; two sons, Bran Roberts and wife Barbara of Woodward, Brec Roberts of Fargo; one daughter, Jeanne Lyons of Mineral Wells, Texas; step daughters, Karen Wooton and husband Farris, Kim Mittelstaedt and husband Craig, and Kris Garcia and husband Pedro; brother, C.S. Barker of Graham, Texas; sister, Janet Gregg; grandchildren, Chelsea Cruse, Kaleb Roberts, Bre Daniel, Jessie Lyons; step grandchildren, Farris Wooton, III, Maggie Lowe, Bryan Blankenship, Scott Blankenship, Kyle Horschler, Kerri Metz, Jordan Martinez, Maghan Ruark, Lindsey Hambrick; great grandchildren, Zoey Roberts, Zayne Roberts, Brooks Cruse, Bridger Cruse, Hank Niblett, Sutton Daniel; step great grandchildren, Wyatt Wooton, Ava Wooton, Crew Lowe, Addison Lowe, Bailey Blankenship, Beau Blankenship, Bennett Blankenship, Vivienne Blankenship, Talon Horschler, Evie Metz, Sam Metz, Camila Martinez, Josias Martinez, Bonham Ruark, Graham Ruark, Sadie Ruark, Piper Hambrick, Lincoln Hambrick, Paisley Hambrick; and many other relatives and friends.
