Gate, Oklahoma - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tucker Gene Heglin, age 35, a beloved son, dedicated park manager, and a friend to many. Tucker was born to Arliss Gene Heglin of Gate, Oklahoma, and Sharlene Kay Hall of Moore, Oklahoma. He grew up in Mooreland, Oklahoma, where he attended Mooreland Schools. In 2002, he made the profound decision to accept Christ as his Savior, later joining the Putnam City Baptist Church community as a member and devout follower.
Tucker's passion for the natural world led him to Southwestern Oklahoma State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Parks and Recreation Management and an Associate degree in Wildlife Fire Management. His dedication to preserving the outdoors extended to his career with the Oklahoma Department of Parks and Recreation, where he served as a Park Manager at Black Mesa and Boiling Springs Parks. Tucker found immense joy in sharing the beauty of nature with others, whether through guiding park visitors or simply reveling in the wonders of wildlife, sunrises, and sunsets.
Known for his kindness and willingness to lend a helping hand, Tucker will be remembered for his love of family, friends, and the outdoors. He cherished moments spent hunting, fishing, and playing guitar, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, adventure, and joy.
Tucker is survived by many family members and his father, Arliss Gene Heglin, and his mother, Sharlene Kay Hall, along with her husband, Terry L. Hall and step-sister, Tariee Hall Williams. His memory lives on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Tucker's life will be celebrated in a service to honor his legacy. Services were held at Billings Funeral Home Chapel, 1621 Downs Avenue, Woodward, Oklahoma 73801 by Pastor Bill Hulse of Putnam City Baptist Church.
