Ray Blumer, 95, of Shallowater, Texas passed away on July 29, 2024.
He was born December 6, 1928 in Woodward, Oklahoma. He graduated from Woodward High School in 1946 and after graduation he attended Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma.
Ray worked in his family print shop in Woodward as he grew up.
He married Ruth Ruttman May 13,1950. They moved to Pampa, Texas and had three children. He worked in several print shops in Pampa and White Deer, Texas. He was active in Jaycees and Optimist Club programs in Pampa. In 1971 they moved to Shallowater, Texas and Ray worked as manager of Texas Tech Press on the Texas Tech University campus until he retired.
Survivors include his wife of 74 years Ruth Ruttman Blumer, his daughter Gayle Blumer Redwine (Husband Larry Redwine), and his son Randy Ray Blumer (Wife Stacey Blumer), plus many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by daughter Linda Blumer Aytes.
Per Ray's wishes there will be no funeral service. He will be buried in the Woodward Cemetery sometime in the future.
