Ramona Stout Dauphin began her heavenly journey Friday, August 30, 2024. A celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 a.m. at First Methodist Church in Woodward on Saturday, September 7th. A Receiving of Friends will be held at Billings Funeral Home on Friday, September 6, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Ramona Carolyn (Stout) Dauphin was born on July 29, 1933, in Haskew Flats, Oklahoma, to Thomas Perry and Orilla Jeanette (Stokes) Stout. Ramona was raised in the Freedom area and attended Sunny Slope Elementary School before graduating from Mooreland High School in 1951. She attended Oklahoma A&M. Ramona was united in marriage to Donald Max Dauphin on December 7, 1952, in Mooreland, Oklahoma. To this union four children were born, Marty, Debra, Lisa, and Karen.

Ramona was quite skilled on a horse, and it was noted by her father that she was one of the best "cowboys" in her family. In 1945, she was crowned Freedom Rodeo Queen and served on the Woodward Elks Queen Committee for 25 years. She truly did it all, as she could frequently be found in her little sewing room under the stairs, mending or making clothes, or in the kitchen baking her famous cinnamon rolls.

Because of her strong faith and love for the Lord, Ramona was known by everyone who knew her, from the time she was a young girl, to do for others above all else. She gave selflessly to her family, church, and community. She was a dedicated member of the United Methodist Women, giving of her time and talents. She worked alongside Don managing Dauphin Insurance from 1980 to 2000.

Ramona's mothering extended to more than just her own children, as the family often had exchange students living with them for months at a time. This instilled not only a love of travel in Don and Ramona but also their children. In retirement, she and Don were able to lead a Rotary International trip to Japan, as well as visit lifelong friends in Australia.

She was known by her sweet, joyful and assuring smile that could lift and brighten any situation. Her quiet strength, kindness and gentleness were admired greatly by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Don, of almost 72 years , one son Marty and wife Lesa of Alvord, Texas; three daughters, Debra and husband Gerald Nipp of Aledo, Texas, Lisa and husband Frank Crabtree of Ada, Oklahoma, Karen and husband Victor Albert of Oklahoma City; 11 grandchildren; 5 bonus grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 bonus great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Beth Ann Walstad of Oklahoma City; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and so many friends.

She will be reunited with her parents, her four bothers Ronnie, Wilbur, J. Alan and Louis D Stout and her sister, Phyllis Crissup.
