Ramona Sue (Brumley) Buss was born November 5, 1944 in Woodward, Oklahoma to Edward and Viola (Irwin) Brumley. She grew up as part of a large family, who she dearly loved. On July 29, 1961, she married the love of her life, Bobby Ray Buss, in Clayton New Mexico. They established their first home in Buffalo, Oklahoma, where Bobby had been raised. They were married for 62 years and blessed with three children: Rodney, Rhonda, and Christy.
Ramona was happiest when she was surrounded by those she loved. She loved to have her family gather around the table sharing stories, playing games (especially cards) and laughter over a home-cooked meals. She believed that life was meant to be celebrated, and she did so with every chance she got.
Above all else, she was a devoted follower of Jesus, a woman of deep prayer, who lived out her faith with an open invitation for others to join her at church. Her home often looked as though it belonged on the pages of a magazine. Whether she was meticulously tending to her yard, rearranging furniture to keep things fresh, or ensuring every corner was spotless, she took pride in creating a beautiful home for those she loved.
Her home was rarely quiet; she lived her life to a soundtrack, often with music turned up high enough to fill every room while she worked. Christmas was her crowning joy, a time when her love of family and her faith converged. She was the heart of the holiday, famous for her signature beef and noodle soup and known as the loudest cheerleader during family football games.
Following the passing of her beloved husband in September 2022, she carried a quiet but profound longing for him every day. In her seasons of grief, she clung to the promise of Lamentations 3:22-23: 'The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning.' This verse was her daily strength, she found peace in the assurance of God's new mercies each day, while looking forward with a joyful heart to the day she would be reunited with him for eternity. Her family takes great comfort in knowing they are together once more, resting in that eternal mercy. Ramona Sue Buss leaves behind a legacy of love and a family that will forever miss her vibrant spirit and rose-colored glasses.
Ramona was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby, her parents Edward and Viola Brumley, and two sisters, Della Cooper and Anona Barnes.
She is survived by her son Rodney Buss and spouse Sally Coleman; two daughters Rhonda Buss and spouse Lorraine Jones and Christy Shibley and spouse Eric; brother, Tim Brumley and wife Bobbie; sisters Reva and spouse Eddie Parker, Alva Hickey, Rita and spouse Randy Hale; six grandchildren, Brayden Buss and spouse Lauren Buss, Chase Buss and spouse Paige Buss, Savannah Buss, Riley Shibley, Kyle Shibley, Koen Shibley; five great grandchildren, Wyatt Buss, Fielder Buss, Nora Buss, Judson Buss, and Oliver Buss; and many other relatives and friends.
