Mick Matheson, 66 year old Woodward business man died November 3, 2024.

Mikel (Mick) David Matheson was born on August 7, 1958 in Evanston, Illinois to Barbara (Eastham) and Donald Matheson. Don moved the family to Oklahoma eventually settling in Woodward. Mick attended and graduated from Woodward High School. He participated in band, speech, and he excelled in debate. He graduated with honors in 1976. Mick attended the University of Oklahoma, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. He then returned to Woodward.

His career began in communications working for KSIW. Mick also worked several years at Beaver Express. He later joined his father working as a partner at Figly & Salz. He was an active member of the community supporting several civic organizations.

Mick enjoyed vacationing with family, loved traveling to Alaska, golf trips with the guys, and was an avid sports fan. He also enjoyed history, politics and music. He was most passionate about writing and became a published author.

Mick is survived by his three children, Matthew Matheson; Clint Nichols; Lynsay Leatherbury and family; brother, Steve Matheson and wife Maryann; sisters, Liz Benson and husband Brad and children; Leslee Cunningham and children.

At Mick's request there will be no services.

The family ask that in lieu of flowers make donations to the American Heart Association.
