Woodward, Oklahoma - Lyle Gene Owens, age 86, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2026. He was born on February 18, 1940 to Clifford and Lyda (Rowley) Owens. Lyle was raised on the farm west of Mooreland and graduated from Woodward Public Schools. He was united in marriage to Virginia (Ginger) Ann Pearson on August 3, 1958 at the Church of Christ in Woodward. They were blessed with two sons, Bill and Randy. Lyle and Ginger made their home in Woodward.

Lyle was known for his strong work ethic from an early age. He began working on his family's farm as a young boy and later spent time working in a bakery. While raising his own cattle and hogs and continuing his farming roots, he also developed a skill trade in welding. Lyle went on to dedicate 47 years of service as a pipe yard manager for Razien Metals where he inherited the nickname "Slim".

He enjoyed hunting and fishing, basketball, cards and word search puzzles. He played softball for many years and was inducted into the Softball Hall of Fame. He especially loved watching his grandchildren play sports. Lyle had a gift for storytelling and took great joy in sharing stories, cherishing every moment spent with those he loved.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ginger; his sisters Donna Lea and Bonnie; and his sister-in-law, Ronda, and her husband, David. Brother in-law JW Pearson and sister in-law Marilyn Pearson. Grandson Landon Gene Owens.

Lyle is survived by two sons, Bill Owens and wife Lisa of Woodward, Randy Owens and wife Kara of Woodward; eleven grandchildren, Brian Holley of Bridgeport, TX, Brad Holley of Bridgeport, TX, Chad Owens and Amber Wares of Woodward, Karra Owens of Woodward, Brandi Fisher and husband Chris of Mooreland, Kristen Owens of Lexington, Zac Owens and wife Megan of Luther and Austin Owens of Woodward; nine great grandchildren, Shea Eckenrode, Cole Holley, Zack Holley, Azlee Owens, Kamdyn Owens, Penelope Owens, Magnolia Owens, Dylan Fisher, Jordyn Fisher, Landon Farmer and Shaelynn Holley; numerous extended family members and a host of good friends.

He is deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends. His memory will continue to live on through the stories shared, the lessons taught, and the love he gave so freely.

Graveside funeral service will be Thursday April 30th, at 10:00 AM. at the Elmwood Cemetery. Burial will follow with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
