Kathryn Louise Jane Robertson Obituary

Woodward, OK - We are sad to announce the passing of our beautiful, hilarious mother, and oldest friend, Kathryn "Kathy" Louise Jane Robertson on May 16th, 2025.

Mom began her life in Luton, England on December 6th, 1950. She lived in Luton with her beloved Mum, Betty, throughout her childhood and teenage years. She spent most of her childhood surrounded by her mum's family, in particular her Auntie "Boo" and cousin Marion "Chub", with whom she essentially grew up with. She would often talk about her exciting teenage years living as a "mod" and seeing the likes of Jimi Hendrix and, her favorite, The Beatles, live on stage. Her love of great music was passed on to us.

In 1973 she met an American G.I. named Gary Schneider and they married soon after. Together they welcomed us three kids. In 1980 they moved back to Dad's hometown of Woodward, OK., which was a huge culture shock for her! She quickly acclimated to small town Oklahoma life and became a proud American citizen in 1981. A British woman living in Woodward was quite a novelty back then-at least to our friends who would often ask her to say certain words just to hear the accent. She reluctantly obliged every time. She infused British culture into our lives as much as possible, whether it was exposing us to British music early, waking us up before dawn to watch Charles and Diana's wedding, or popping Christmas crackers on Christmas, a tradition we carry on to this day. We are grateful for that and will always hold a special place in our hearts for England.

Mom's chosen profession was nursing, which she practiced until her retirement in 2014.

She worked in different units throughout her tenure, but she particularly thrived as an ICU nurse. Her knack for calming patients and their families on their worst days was apparent. Her comforting nature also made her the ultimate caretaker when we were sick.

She married L.D. "Chuck" Robertson in 1994. They remained together until his death in 2013. After Chuck died, she moved back to Woodward from Yukon to be close to her granddaughters and remained there until her passing.

Mom was preceded in death by her husband, L.D. "Chuck" Robertson, her mother, Betty Dawson, special Aunt Beryl "Boo" Owens, and precious grandparents and uncles.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Neil and Julie Schneider of Champaign, IL., Joanna and Justin Elliott of Woodward, OK., and Karen and Josh Barnard of Stillwater, OK. Her memory will also be cherished by granddaughters Clarissa Elliott and fiancé Kenyon Lanham, Drew Elliott, Lauren Elliott, and Alexis Gatses. We will miss every little thing about her and are grateful we had her for as long as we did. To quote one of her favorite songs "Though I know I'll never lose affection for people and things that went before. I know I'll often stop and think about them, in my life, I love you more."
