Edmond, Oklahoma - Gregory M. Donley, age 70, of Edmond, Oklahoma, passed away June 2, 2026.

Gregg was born on November 25, 1955 to Henry "Matt" and Nadine Donley in Wichita, Kansas. He attended school, Kindergarten-12th Grade in Woodward, Oklahoma, and according to him, "never missed a day." After Gregg graduated from Woodward High School in 1974, he went on to receive a Bachelor's of Science in Business Administration with minors in Geology and Business Management at Southwestern Oklahoma State University.

Gregg played football at SWOSU and was a proud member of Phi Delta Theta. After graduation, he embarked on a successful career in the oil and gas industry, spending more than four decades in mud logging and oilfield exploration services. Known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his profession, Gregg continued doing the work he loved until his passing.

Gregg took great pride in his sons, Matt and Lance, and cherished the opportunity to support them throughout their athletic journeys. He rarely missed a chance to watch Matt play basketball at SWOSU and traveled across the country to cheer on Lance during his football career with the Oklahoma Sooners. Some of Gregg's greatest joys came from being their biggest fan and celebrating their accomplishments both on and off the field. That same unwavering support and pride continued as his family grew and he embraced one of his favorite roles—being a grandfather.

Gregg's love for his grandchildren was unmistakable, reflected in the smile that lit up his face whenever he was around them. He rarely missed an opportunity to attend their games, performances, and activities, taking immense pride in each of their accomplishments. Being "Grandad" was one of his greatest joys. He will be fondly remembered for his signature Grandad jokes, the occasional stain on his shirt from his favorite sauces, and the baseball cap that was almost always perched on his head.

Gregg is survived by his two sons; Matt Donley and wife Kiley; Lance Donley and his wife Whitney; four grandchildren Kayten and Kamryn Donley and Hayes and Hudson Donley, one brother Gary Donley, one sister Judy Fletcher and husband Jim, his nephews and niece Dustin, Garrett, Curtis, Lee, and Alisa. He is also survived by longtime companion, Sandi Liles.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law Shirley Donley, nephew Troy Hadley, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at Billings Funeral Home in Woodward, Oklahoma at 10:00 AM. A reception will immediately follow at the Elks Lodge serving a bar-b-que meal for all in attendance. To honor Gregg, the family encourages you to wear jeans, cargo shorts, and/or baseball caps.
