Woodward, OK - Dorothy Ishmael, 93 year old Woodward resident, passed away Monday, November 11, 2024 in Woodward. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 15, 2024 at the Faith United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.


Dorothy May (Wanger) Ishmael was born on October 5, 1931 in Freedom, Oklahoma to Benjamin Elvin and Mary Edna (Devous) Wanger. Dorothy grew up in the Haskew community and graduated from Fort Supply High School. She was united in marriage to Clifton Long on October 5, 1949. They were blessed with one son, David.


Dorothy was united in marriage to Golden Ishmael on January 18, 1963 at the First Methodist Church in Gage, Oklahoma. They made their home in Gage before later moving to Woodward. Dorothy and Golden operated a grade A dairy from 1964 until 1976. They were also active in farming and ranching.


She enjoyed making pies, making memorial flowers and being with her family. One of her proudest moments was owning and operating a successful Grade A Dairy.


She is survived by one brother, Harold Wanger; one sister, Lily Neill and husband Don; numerous nephews and nieces; other relatives and many friends.


Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clifton Long, son David Long, husband Golden Ishmael, brothers, Loyd Wanger, Lewis Wanger, and a sister Alice Jones.
