Daniel Robert Prather, Jr.
Daniel Robert Prather, Jr. was born on October 30, 1960 at the Submarine Base in New London, CT to Daniel Robert Prather, Sr. and Anne (Macfarlane) Prather. The family moved to Mooreland, Oklahoma in 1965 where Daniel attended Mooreland Schools until his graduation in 1978. He then attended the Brian Institute in Wichita, KS where he studied computer science. Daniel worked with his father, Dan Sr. in construction and then Prather Cues in 1992. Daniel also taught music to many local students for over 25 years. He was a highly regarded musician, music instructor and recording guru. Musicians seemed to enjoy being in his company and he helped form several musical bands and preformed with them for quite a few years. Daniel was a pioneer of the cue graphic arts industry and inlay artist who innovated many techniques and created numerous one-of-a-kind cue designs. He had a vibrant personality, would talk to anyone who would take time to listen, and had a passion for the little things in life as well. Daniel meant so much to so many in this community. Not only for teaching music to others, but for being a confidant, a friend that his students who felt a sense of freedom to talk about anything that was on their mind, with a mutual trust of confidentiality. There is no way to calculate the number of people Daniel has touched in his short 59 years.
Daniel married the love of his life on October 31st, 2012 and not only gained a beautiful, giving wife, but a beautiful and very gifted daughter. Daniel loved his family and enjoyed quality time with his nephews and nieces. Daniel is survived by his mother, Anne Prather of Mooreland; Daniel's wife Shelly and daughter Kiana of Mooreland; Brother-in-law Duncan Yang and wife Xiaotian Lin of Katy, TX and sons Dalton and Dylan; Sister-in-law Zhou Ding and husband Qiang Zhang of Yingkou, China, and son Wanru Zhang; Sister Heide Prather and husband Kevin Hilliard of Mooreland ; Sister Jennifer Finley and husband Todd of Mooreland; Brother Jeff Prather and wife Rhonda of Mooreland; Brother-in-law Yu Ding and wife Wei Zheng of Yingkou, China and son Haolin Ding; Aunt Leslie Sheppard of Woodward; numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins and numerous friends.
Daniel was preceded in death by father Daniel Prather, Sr., grandparents James and Margaret Macfarlane, Robert Prather and Dorothy Figurelli, aunt Mary Catherine Binard, uncle Doug Sheppard, and niece Margaret Prather.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 11, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church of Mooreland with his brother-in-law Reverend Todd Finley and Reverend Todd Bergman officiating. Burial will follow in the Mooreland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home in Woodward on Saturday, from 9:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and Sunday at the Billings Chapel in Mooreland from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Daniel Prather Music Scholarship with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
