Carolyn June Wyckoff Obituary
Chester, Oklahoma - Carolyn June (Bensch) Wyckoff, loving mother grandmother and friend went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 20, 2025. Carolyn was welcomed into this world by her loving parents, Raymond and Mildred Bensch on June 10, 1936, in Chester, Oklahoma. As a child, she loved to go to her daddy's gas station and ride with him in the truck as he would haul gas to the local farmers. As she got older, she attended grade school at the one room schoolhouse in Chester. Carolyn attended high school at Seiling. She loved playing basketball and representing the Seiling Wildcats on the court.
Carolyn was united in marriage to Renzi Wyckoff on June 6, 1954. They made their home northwest of Chester where they rented a farm owned by Shorty Matthews. They enjoyed farm life as they raised cattle and hay, and Carolyn always had a garden. They were blessed with three children, Carol Jean, Richard Allen, and Raymond Brent.
When Renzie's father passed, they moved close to his mother to help with the ranch. Carolyn lived on this ranch and called it home for the rest of her life.
Carolyn was a longtime member of the Elm Grove Community Church where she served 42 years as the church secretary. Her faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior helped lead and comfort her all through her life. This was evident through her work at Elm Grove Church and the Chester and surrounding areas. She was a true servant of the Lord.
Some of Carolyn's favorite things to do was travel. She loved going to the mountains, she loved to go snow skiing, camping, and water skiing. She enjoyed two trips to Hawaii with Christy and Donnie. She also cherished a atrip to Denmark with Ruthann and Kim. Carolyn was fortunate to make two trips to Alaska to see Rick.
Carolyn loved to quilt and spent many hours in her sewing room. She was overjoyed that one of her great granddaughters, Shelby, loved to quilt and enjoyed giving her some good advice.
During the later part of her life, Carolyn enjoyed spending time with Donna Whetstone talking about quilts and going to classes. She made a quilt for each of her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. Every spring she enjoyed that Austin would come out and work on her flower beds, then a Christmas time he would come to put up her lights and decorate her house. Carolyn will be missed by a multitude of family members and friends.
Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Carol Jean Epperly, and daughters-in-law Rhonda Wyckoff and Sherry Weldon. Her memory will forever be cherished by her seven grandkids: Sarah Boyer and husband Casey, Christy Woods and husband Donnie, Chan Highfill and wife Micah, Rich Wyckoff, Josh Wyckoff and wife DD, Amy Quesada, and Rachel Way. Carolyn also leaves 13 great-children: Austin and Shelby Woods; Cassie, Cutler, Clay, and Chloe Smith; Jarrett, Maddie, and Jase Highfill; Ella Wyckoff; Aidan Way; and Jackson, Jon, and Raymond Kranklis.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Mildred Bensch; her beloved husband Renzie Wyckoff; sons Richard and Raymond Wyckoff; sister Ruth Ann Evans, two brothers, Duane and Lyle Bensch, and her great grandson, Colby Smith.
Carolyn leaves behind a legacy of love for her church, family, community, and friends. She will be greatly missed but the memories of her will live on in our hearts.
Carolyn's family would like to say a special thank you to Pastor Charlie Newman, for his kindness over the past few months, to Dr. Kenneth Duffy for making her comfortable and making her laugh, and a special thanks to Melissa Hindman for the care and kindness she gave to Carolyn. We couldn't have made this journey without your help.
