Amber Marie Smith
Amber Marie (Rice) Smith was born on May 11, 1984 in Woodward, Oklahoma: she was the daughter of Frankie Lamont and Beverly Jean (Harris) Rice. As a young child Amber attended Woodward schools. Her junior and senior of high school she attended the Oklahoma School of Science and Math graduating in 2002. She then attended college at Texas A&M, Prairie View campus, and Northwestern Oklahoma State University where she received her Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing. Amber was united in marriage to Ozell Smith, III at Boiling Springs State Park. Amber and Ozell made their home in Arnett. Amber worked at Newman Memorial Hospital in Shattuck, and Alliance Home Health in Woodward part-time.
Amber enjoyed reading, playing with her children, shopping, spending time with Ozell riding motorcycles. Amber was a caring, loving mother and wife to her family. She was a very special and important person to her family and everyone she knew. Amber was an excellent nurse and loved her job. Family was her life and her children were her pride and joy.
Amber is survived by her husband Ozell Smith, III of the home; children, Adante Smith; Ozell Smith, IV; Alyssa Smith; Jasmine Smith; Raven Smith Walker; mother and father, Frankie and Beverly Rice; sisters, Illanna Spicer and husband Adam; Ashley Goodwin; brothers, James Dudley McClendon; Frankie Lamont Rice, Jr.; grandchildren, Lachlan and Desirae Walker; nieces, Jaiden and Kyndell Rice; children who were treated as her own: Collier, Aurrelia, Miyana, and Callum; other family and many many friends.
Those greeting her in heaven, Grandpa Harris, aunts Sharon, Mary, Frances, and Martha; uncles Bobby and Ira.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
