Wilma Blaylock was born January 29, 1938 to Leo Clair and Juanita (Winters) McCracken in Vici, Oklahoma. She was one of nine children.
She was reared in Vici surrounded by her large family. Many memories were made with her siblings and cousins, providing her with humorous stories she loved to share. Wilma attended Vici Public Schools through the 11th grade. She met and fell in love with Dale Blaylock. They were united in holy matrimony May 14, 1955. Father-in-law Hershel thought of Wilma as his own daughter. Wilma attended Sharon High School her senior year, graduating with the Class of 1956.
Shortly thereafter the couple moved to Woodward. Dale and Wilma were blessed with a son, Dennis Dale. They were very proud of his accomplishments.
Wilma dedicated herself to working and serving the public throughout her life. She worked for the Stock Exchange Bank and 43 years at Woodward County in the Woodward County Tax Assessor's Office and then the Woodward County Treasurer's Office where she was eventually appointed as the County Treasurer. She remained in that position until she retired in 2010.
During their time she also was a very proficient bookkeeper at their family business "Blaylock Automotive" as well as secretary for their concealed carry classes that they held at the family farm.
Wilma gave her life to the Lord and was Baptized at the Woodward Church of Christ May 8, 2004.
Wilma and Dale enjoyed traveling, watching basketball games, attending NRA banquets and helping with various church activities. She always enjoyed shopping for clothes and a new pair of shoes, whether with Dale or her "Girls" from the courthouse.
Her greatest joys were her family, loving husband, son, and grandson. She took pleasure in spending time and spoiling them. She was seldom seen without her best friend and true love, her husband, Dale.
Wilma passed from this life in Oklahoma City while in the hospital at the age of 79.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, Clair and Juanita McCracken, father-in-law Hershel Blaylock, brothers Bob, Wayne, Lonnie, and Ronnie McCracken, and sister Clarneta Seidel.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Dale Blaylock, son Dennis Dale Blaylock, grandson Joseph Blaylock and other relatives.
Wilma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She was a devoted Christian and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Woodward Church of Christ with the funeral home receiving the contributions on behalf of the family.
