Stella Faye (Crosby) Hollis was born on May 17, 1929 in Sasakwa, Oklahoma; she was the daughter of Everett Lester and Leona (Jones) Crosby. She grew up in Sasakwa and graduated from Sasakwa High School in 1947. Stella was united in marriage to Audie Eugene Hollis on April 22, 1949 in Seminole County, Oklahoma. They were blessed with eight wonderful children. Since Audie was in the military, the family lived on military bases in Washington and Ft. Hood, Texas. They later lived in Oklahoma City, Hominy, and Seminole before moving to Woodward in 1958.
She was a long time member of the Pentecostal Church and Stella loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. One of her favorite things to do was listening to Christian Radio at night. She would often sing along to the music. Stella loved being with her children, grandchildren, and family dinners on Holidays. She had a great sense of humor and she loved to joke with others. She never left home with out a comb, and always had fruit punch and oatmeal cream pies for anyone she could convince to eat it. Stella was always waiting on Publishers Clearing House to show up at her doorstep. She was going to help all of her family if she won. She was loved and adored by all and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by three sons: Joseph and Kathy Hollis of Mankato, Kansas, Rick and Rhonda Hollis of Woodward, Rod and Raenell Hollis of Woodward; four daughters: Janice Seal of Woodward, Brenda and Kenny Wanger of Woodward, Connie and Kenny Chesney of Woodward, Traci and Jamie Holtz of Woodward; grandchildren: Sharlotte, Ronnie, Jeromy, Jared, BreAnne, Kent, Kylie, Joshua, Darrin, Danielle, Christopher, Kimberly, Kelli, Kendra, Heather, Stephanie, Nathan, Ryan, Austin, Kyra, Koby, Kash, and Aaron; 41 great-grandchildren and one on the way; three great-great-grandchildren: Aribella, Raelyn, and Jacob; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Audie, son, Glen Hollis, grandson Chris Seal, brothers and sisters and their spouses, William and Marie Crosby, Jeptha and Willa Dean Crosby, Ida and LeeRoy Ward, Helen and Clarence Thornton, Lorene and Woodrow Jones, Imogene and Bob Fahrny and Myrtle Crosby.
