Sidney King, Jr, 68, died Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at his home southeast of Mooreland. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 20, 2017 at the Woodward Elks Lodge. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
Sidney Dalhart King, Jr. was born on January 11, 1948 in Enid, Oklahoma to Sidney Dalhart and Iantha Louise (Poindexter) King. He grew up around Enid and Guymon and graduated from Guymon High School. Sid worked in the oil field as a salesman before going to work at Butch's Guns. He always joked that he worked at Butch's as his retirement, because he loved it so much. He loved spending time with his kids and grandkids and he would do anything for them. He loved his kids and his guns.
He is survived by his children: Levi King of Oklahoma City, John King of San Angelo, Texas, Tracy and Shaye Hupp of Marlow, Kim Snider and husband Bart of Mooreland, Christy Chartier of El Reno; 17 grandchildren: Kassidy, Dalton, Lanie, and Tristan Leach, Jayden, Shaylyn, and Abigayle Hupp, Rowdy and Denton Mars, Laney, Colt, Jake, and Jesika Snider, Josh and Kenzi King, Rachel and Sierra Chartier; three sisters: Margee and Tim Wheeler of Woodward, Cheryl and Robert Coffman of Guymon, Thada King of Allen, Texas; one brother Tony King and wife Stacy; nine great-grandchildren: Remee, Rebel, and Jett Leach, Brantly, Creedence, and Nolan Dean, Westin and Adelyn Dietz; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his best friend and companion, Flash his beloved dog, his Uncle Alvin and a great-grandson, Bryson Goodno.
