Royce Lee Westenhaver, 75, of Guymon, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2016 in Pueblo West, Colorado.
The son of Paul Royce "Short" and Myrtle Florence (Vantassell) Westenhaver, he was born January 13, 1941 in Webb, Oklahoma. Royce attended school in Vici, Oklahoma and Borger, Texas.
Royce and Corrine Montano were united in marriage on July 21, 1977 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She preceded him in death on August 19, 2013. He was a member of the St. Peter's Catholic Church in Guymon, where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Royce owned and operated Muffler-iffic/Muffler Haus in Guymon for thirty one years.
In addition to his wife, Corrine he was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Karen Smith, one son, Jesse Taylor, two grandchildren: Paul Carrillo and Emalee Taylor, and one sister, Carolyn Hutchinson.
Survivors include his children: Ramona Taylor of Dodge City, KS, Roy Taylor and wife, Cindi of Guymon, OK, Chris Taylor of Guymon, Mitch Taylor of Guymon, Ricky Taylor of Norman, OK, Royce Westenhaver, Jr. of Woodward, OK, Teresa Briesch of Woodward, OK, Kiili Westenhaver and husband, Troy of Pueblo West, CO, and Tena Westenhaver of Guymon; along with 23 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, one sister, Dr. Rita Westenhaver of Broken Arrow, OK, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Rosary will be recited Sunday evening, May 22nd at 7:30 p.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Guymon. Mass of Christian burial will be conducted Monday morning, May 23rd at 11:00 a.m. also at St. Peter's with Father Mike Wheelahan, celebrant. Family interment will be at a later date in the Elmhurst Cemetery. Services are under the care of the Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.
Memorials in memory of Royce will be accepted for the Knights of Columbus. Memorials will be accepted at the Bunch - Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1112, Guymon, Oklahoma 73942.
