Richard A. Karpe, 53 year old Vici resident, died Sunday, February 5, 2017 at his home in Arnett. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 10, 2017 at the New Covenant Church in Woodward with Reverend Ed Dowty officiating. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.
Richard Allen Karpe was born on December 9, 1963 in Liberal, Kansas to Vernett Milton and Helen Margaret (Hale) Karpe. Richard grew up in Woodward and attended Woodward and Sharon schools. He was united in marriage to Rhonda Faye Gonser on September 3, 1982 at the Elm Street Baptist Church in Woodward. To this union they were blessed with two children, Amber Rae and Lacey Nicole.
Richard worked in the oil field and worked as a Welder. He also was a Truck Driver for Jericho Services, Inc. He worked around Woodward and in North Dakota. He was united in marriage to Gina Shauger on April 1, 2009 in Lipscomb, Texas. They made their home in Vici and North Dakota before moving back to Vici.
He enjoyed riding motorcycles, farming, socializing with his friends and family. He was a member of ABATE. He loved being around his dogs, Harley, Baylee, , Axis, and Lil Red.
He is survived by his mother, Helen Fearn of Arnett; wife Gina Karpe of Vici; daughter Lacey Karpe Jackson; son-in-law, Chava Camacho, both of Woodward; two brothers, Donnie Karpe and Julie of Vici, Doug Karpe of Vici; sisters, JoAnn Savage and husband Gary of Shreveport, Louisiana, Vonietta Wyatt of Vici; four grandchildren, Damon and Devon Camacho of Woodward, Lilly Fields of Mooreland, and Drake Martin of Woodward; his niece Brittany who looked up to him as a father figure: other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Vernett Karpe, sister Janice Stader, daughter Amber Camacho on October 18, 2014, his first wife Rhonda on August 20, 2003, and his grandson Zebrick Salvador Camacho on August 1, 2002.
