Rickey Jo Rittenhouse was born January 17, 1950, in Mooreland, Oklahoma to Ray Erenest and Velma Lucille (Murphy) Rittenhouse. He passed from this life on May 16, 2015, at the age of 65. Ric lived in Woodward his entire life and attended college in Alva, Oklahoma. Ric was united in marriage to Shelly (Thorn) Rittenhouse on June 12, 1992, in Lipscomb, Texas. They made their home north of Woodward on the Rittenhouse home place and moved recently to Woodward. Ric loved to eat and liked to go out of town for this reason. He spent time in his younger years as a Judge for the Darryl Starbird's National Rod and Custom Association shows after winning many shows. He loved painting custom cars. He spent most of his life as a Farmer and Rancher north of town. He enjoyed music; building things and watching his wife babysit his great niece Tayler. He was most known for his generosity and sense of humor. Anyone that knew him knew in conversation he was good for a comment or joke at any time. He never met a stranger. In his youth, Ric attended the Bible Baptist Church. In recent years, he was a member of the Woodward Church of the Nazarene. Ric is preceded in death by his wife Shelly, parents Ray and Velma, grandparents Arthur Jewell and Queen Victoria (Pickett) Rittenhouse, and grandparents William Harry and Alice (O’Dell) Murphy.
