Renzie's Story

RENZIE LEE WYCKOFF, son of Glenn Isaac Wyckoff and I. Marie Wyckoff was born on August 7, 1934 on the Wyckoff Ranch. For the first eight years Renzie attended school at Pearl Valley Country School near George Town. He went to high school in Mutual, OK, and also attended Oklahoma A+M College in Stillwater. He and his sister Sonya often walked or rode horses over the two miles to Pearl Valley. During his junior and senior years, Renzie actually drove the bus route from his home to Mutual. ON June 6, 1954, Renzie was married to his high school sweetheart Carolyn June Bensch. They made their first home on the Wyckoff Ranch in the bunk house. Most of the remainder of Renzie’s life was spent on the homestead. To their union were born three children, Carol Jean, Richard Allen, and Raymond Brent. Renzie was a longtime member of the Elm Grove Community Church, serving for many years as a board member. He was always the pastor’s friend. He achieved the Title of Junior Master Farmer while still in high school. He was also a member of the Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association. Renzie’s favorite things were to travel to the mountains, snow skiing, camping, and water skiing. Renzie is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carolyn; daughter, Carol Brown of Ponca City, OK; Son, Richard Wyckoff and wife Rhonda of Andrews, TX; Daughter-In-Law, Sherry Weldon and husband Tom of Colby, KS; sister, Sonja Griffith and husband Boyd of Mutual, OK; seven grandchildren, Sarah Boyer and her husband Casey, Christy Woods and husband Donnie, Chan Highfill and his wife Micah, Rick Wyckoff, Josh Wyckoff and his wife DeeDee, Amy Quesada, and Rachel Way. Thirteen great grandchildren, Austin and Shelby Woods, Cassie Colby, Cutler, Clay, and Chloe Smith, Jarrett and Jase Highfill, Ella Wyckoff, Aiden Way, and Jackson and Jon Raymond Krauklis. Renzie was preceded in death by his parents Glen aMemorial Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on FRIDAY, May 29, 2015 at the Elm Grove Community Church in Chester with Pastor Orville White presiding. Carolyn and the family of Renzie Lee Wyckoff have entrusted his care, services, and burial to Luke Faires and the caring staff at Redinger Funeral Home. Memorial Contributions in honor of Renzie’s life may be made out to the Elm Grove Family Life Center in care of Redinger Funeral Home. Visitation Hours: Thursday, May 29, 2015 9 AM - 7 PM
