Pauline Williamson, 91 year old Woodward resident died Saturday, September 2, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 6, 2017 in the First Presbyterian Church with Reverend Ralph Boyle officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pauline (Duncan) Williamson was born on December 30, 1925 in Woodward, Oklahoma the daughter of Donald Dewey and Chloie Eliza (Berry) Duncan. Pauline was reared in Woodward, and attended Woodward Schools. She graduated from Woodward High School. After graduation she attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva. Pauline was united in marriage to Don Williamson in Holyoke, Colorado. Don and Pauline lived in many places following Dons construction work. They lived in Altus, Oklahoma for 20 years, before returning to Woodward in 1977 and making their permanent home. Pauline and Don were blessed with five children. She worked as a reporter for the Alva Review Courier and the Woodward Daily Press early on. She then began working for Don as secretary for his construction company.
Pauline loved life. She loved her family, and friends. She loved to plan parties and was generally the life of the party. She enjoyed writing, especially poems for her grandchildren and friends birthdays and special occasions. She was an avid game player active in bridge groups and other social clubs, including the Woodward Arts and Theater Council and Chapter AA PEO. She also volunteered at the Plains Indian and Pioneer Museum and the Woodward Public Library.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Woodward, and was active in several leadership roles. She loved her church family.
Pauline is survived by two daughters, Paula Haas and husband Dick of Altus; Donna Johnson and husband Don of Cookson; two sons, Keith Williamson and wife Diana of Norman; Bruce Williamson and wife Michelle of Woodward; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Stilwell and husband Jeremy; Brian Williamson and wife Jamie; Shasta Brooking and husband Keith; Ericka Wiginton and husband Chad; Donald Brown and wife Sarah; Whitley; Amelia; and Gracen Williamson; six great grandchildren, Reilly and Hayden Stilwell; Cyana and Alexia Williamson; Kirbi and Eddie Pittman; Lindi Booking; Kade and Krosby Wiginton; Kenneth; Jessica; and Nicole Brown; Morgan; and McKenna Wofford; great-great-grandchild, Wylee Pittman; sister, Dolores Crocker of Woodward; many nieces; nephews; other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Chloie Duncan; husband, Don; son, Larry Steven Williamson; sister and brothers-law, Hollis and Gordon Boyle; Richard Crocker; Gene Williamson; and son-in-law, Kenneth Brown.
