Pauline's Story

Pauline Braley, longtime Guymon resident, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2017 in Edmond, OK.

Pauline Zoe Grunewald was born January 14, 1928 at the home place near Mutual, OK to John Byron and Mary Francis (Nelson) Grunewald.

Pauline attended Mutual Public Schools graduating in 1946 and then attended Oklahoma Womens College in Chickasaw, OK.
Pauline married Jack Dean Braley November 3, 1950 at Mutual Methodist Church in Mutual, OK. After Jack served in the Military, they made Guymon their home in Guymon for the next 61 years starting in 1954. Mrs. Braleys husband Jack Braley served as Mayor and councilman for the city of Guymon over 20 years.

Pauline is survived by her sister Jean Hackett of Tulsa, OK and her brother Pat Grunewald and wife Orphi of Woodward, OK. Two sons, Steve Braley and wife Merrilee of Tyler, Texas and Brian Braley and wife Ann of Edmond, OK. Four grandchildren, Gant Braley and wife Shannon of Parker, Texas and Spencer Braley of Tyler, Texas. Cole Braley and wife Dannette of Mutual, OK and Mary Braley Chance and husband Brock of Edmond, OK. Seven great grandchildren, Jack and Barrett Braley of Parker, Texas, Campbell and Thompson McAllister, Chance, Kambri and Morgan Braley of Mutual, OK. Also, survived by many nieces and nephews and two sisters- in-law, Dee and Orphi, who she loved seeing often.
Pauline was preceded in death by her husband Jack D. Braley, her brothers Dale Grunewald and Max Grunewald, Sister in-law Dorothy Grunewald, Brothers- in-law Ted Monhollon and Bill Hackett.

The last three years Mrs. Braley lived in Oklahoma City at an independent living facility Town Village.

Pauline was a special GiGi and will be missed by all that knew her. She was an expert on the bridge table and an excellent golfer and enjoyed both greatly with her friends and family. Pauline was a longtime member of Victory Memorial United Methodist Church and served in many ways. She loved her Methodist Women friends and enjoyed helping with the clothing ministry.

Services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Victory Memorial United Methodist Church, Guymon, OK with Pastors Don Taylor and Gary Holdeman officiating. Interment will be at Elmhurst Cemetery. Following grave side service there will be a reception for family and friends at The Willows Bed and Breakfast.
