Paula's Story

Paula M. Slape, 48 year old resident of Woodward, died Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at her home in Woodward. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 16, 2015 in the First Assembly of God Church. A private family burial will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home. Paula Marie Slape was born June 11, 1966 in Spearman, Texas to Thomas Arthur and Lanette (Green) Gossow. Paula grew up in Perryton, Texas attending school in Perryton. In 1977, the family moved to Woodward and Paula graduated from Woodward High School in 1985. On July 12, 1985, she was united in marriage to Michael Leslie “Mike” Slape in Woodward, Oklahoma. They made their home in Woodward. They were blessed with two sons, Eric and Ryan. She worked as a Pharmacy Tech at United and as a Correctional Officer at William S. Key. Paula was a member of the First Assembly of God Church. She enjoyed camping, shopping, horses and swimming, but most of all she loved being with her family and friends. Survivors include her two sons, Eric Slape and wife Chelsea of Oklahoma City; Ryan Slape of Woodward; mother, Lanette Rutherford and husband Harvey of Woodward; maternal grandmother, Oma (Waggoner) Stinson of Sycamore, Georgia; one brother Tom Clark and wife Sherri of Woodward; two uncles, Gene Green of Fairfield, California; Melvin Green of Ft. Worth, Texas; one aunt, Jean Green of Fairfield, California; nephew, Geret Clark; niece, Rauchell Clark, both of Woodward; her dad, Jim Clark of Perryton, Texas; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her biological father, Thomas Arthur Gossow, and the love of her life Mike Slape on November 26, 2003; two aunts.
