Mike Conine, 71 year old Woodward business owner, passed for this life on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 in the Woodward Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Monday, May 16, 2016 in the Bible Baptist Church with Reverend Jesse Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Michael L. Conine, was born January 11, 1945 in Dansville, New York to Dortha Lee ( Ward) and Dwane Conine. Mike attended Woodward Public Schools through the fourth grade. He then attended various schools throughout Texas before his family moved to Vici, Olahoma where Mike graduated from Vici High School in 1963. After graduation Mike moved to Woodward where he worked for Raizen Metals Company until being inducted into the United States Army. He was honorably discharged from the Army after two years of service. He returned to Woodward and began working as an exterminator for Orkin. Mike began his career as a business owner starting Okie Exterminating Company. March of 1973, he remained owner and operator of the business until his death. Mike was united in marriage to Edna Crain on July 10, 1965 in Woodward. Mike and Edna made their home in Woodward. Mike and Edna were blessed with two daughters, Melissa Michele born August 20, 1975 and Meleah Marie born September 9, 1982.
He enjoyed building, welding, wood work, and farming. Mike was most proud of his grandchildren Kaidan Marie and Zachary Michael.
Mike is survived by his wife Edna of the home; two daughters, Melissa Conine; and Meleah Conine both of Woodward; two grandchildren, Kaidan Conine and Zachary Conine; one brother, Dee Conine and wife Marilyn of Salisaw; sister-in-law, Fannie Taylor of Oklahoma City; brother-in-law, H.R. Crain and wife Lucille of Woodward; several nieces, nephews, other family members and many close family friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; brother-in-law, Lee Taylor; and one niece, Pam Crain.
