Mike Lee Abbott, 64 year old Fargo resident, died Tuesday, August 5, 2014. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at the Fargo United Methodist Church with the Reverend Jeff Ralston officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later date. Michael Lee Abbott was born March 25, 1950 in Gordon, Nebraska to Ernest and Doris (Hulio) Abbott. Mike was raised in Gordon, Nebraska and graduated from Gordon High School. He was united in marriage to Sandy Lee McQuiston on December 14, 1978 in Texas. They made their home in Fargo and still live in the same house they have lived in since they got married. Mike worked in the oilfield until 2008 due to his health. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Abbott and Dorris Hulio. He is survived by his wife Sandy Abbott of the home; children, Billy Lee Abbott and wife April, Lynn Dale Briant, Tina Marie Hensley and husband Lance, Bobby Jean Abbott; grandchildren, Cody, Cyle, Chelsea, Cierra, Conagher, Destynee; great-grandchildren, Quinton and Brooklyn; his twin sister, Patricia Abbott; sister, Sharon Cowan; other relatives and many friends. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and spending all his spare time teaching his children and grandchildren his trade. He was a very wise and intelligent man. If you ever had a question about anything you could always call Mike and get the answer. He was like a walking encyclopedia. He was very artistic, making lures and fly’s, loved to paint paintings for anyone and everyone but mostly for his own pleasure. He made sure to keep up with everything until the end. Memorials may be made to the Fargo United Methodist Church, Stained Glass Window Fund, with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
