Lucy Dietrich, 90 year old Woodward resident died Saturday, July 30, 2016 in Woodward. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, August 4, 2016 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
Lucille Ida Catherine Dietrich "Lucy" was born on May 13, 1926 in Long Prairie, Minnesota the daughter of Edward and Esther (Hockemeyer) Gammelien. Lucy spent her childhood in Long Prairie and attended school there. She was married to Lawrence B. Dietrich in 1945 at the age of 19 in Long Paririe where the couple made their home. Lucy and Lawrence moved to Woodward in 1988. While her children were young she was a stay at home mother. She worked out side of the home later in life.
Lucy loved to read, enjoyed doing embroidery work. She loved to cook for her family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Lucy is survived by one daughter Sharon Inocencio and husband Robert of Chandler, Arizona; two sons, Larry Dietrich and wife Patty of Edina, Minnesota; Lonny Dietrich of Woodward; six grandchildren, Tracey Braziel and husband Bobby of Robbinsdale, Minnesota; Tina Hageman and husband Eugene of Annandale, Minnesota; Chelsie Schumaker and husband Tim of Spencer, Indiana; Dean Dietrich of Woodward; Stacey Cunningham and husband Briggs of Tempe, Arizona; Jodi Keith and husband Ricky of Amarillo, Texas; ten great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, and one sister.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Breast Cancer Awareness or the American Heart Association with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
