Keith's Story

Keith Ansted, 56 year old Woodward resident, died Friday, January 22, 2016 at the Alliance Health Woodward. A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 29, 2016 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Jason Dirks officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later date. John Keith Ansted was born on March 17, 1959 in Altus, Oklahoma to John L. Ansted and Barbara (Pittman) Peterson. Keith grew up in Altus and later attended college at Amarillo College, graduating with honors in Instrumentation. He was united in marriage to Kathy Ansted on November 16, 2003 in Perryton, Texas. They made their home in Perryton before moving to Woodward. Keith worked in the Oil and Gas industry for over 25 years and was currently working for Chesapeake Energy. He was a member of the Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church and was involved in Promise Keepers for many years and had recently started an oilfield Ministry. Keith loved to hunt and fish and he also loved to reinvent junk foods. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife Kathy Ansted of the home in Woodward; his mom, Barbara Peterson of Woodward; his dad John L. Ansted and wife Carol of Altus; two daughters, Kasha Lewis of Yukon, Kaylee Vancampen of Woodward; one brother, Todd Ansted of Booker, Texas and his son, TeeJay; two grandchildren, Kason and Kamdyn, and one on the way; other relatives and many friends. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Tulsa, with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
