Karen's Story

Karen Wills, 74 year old Fort Supply resident, died Friday, October 7, 2016 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, October 16, 2016 in the First Baptist Church of Fort Supply. Interment will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Karen Kay Wills was born on January 25, 1942 in Lenora, Oklahoma; the daughter of Andrew Robert and Ella Mae (Hunter) Hickman. Karen spent her childhood on the family farm in Dewey County, attending the Richmond School. Karen and her family moved to Fort Supply, where she entered the 9th grade and graduated from Fort Supply High School with the class of 1959. Karen was united in marriage to Curtis C. Wills on June 1, 1959 in Woodward. The couple lived in Kansas City, Missouri for a short time, before moving back to Fort Supply, where they have lived since that time. Karen and Curtis were blessed with three children, Sandra; Terry; and Micheal. Besides being a full time mother, Karen worked at Western State Hospital, retiring in the early 1990's.

She enjoyed camping, boating, fishing, horses, sewing, quilting, painting and bowling. Her greatest joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren.

Karen is survived by her loving husband Curtis Wills of the home; one daughter, Sandra Phares of Fort Supply; two sons, Terry Wills and wife Janet of Woodward; Micheal Wills of Fort Supply; three grandchildren, Leah (Phares) Stanley and husband Wesley; Jalee Wills and Conley Case Wills; two great-grandchildren, Alexia and Jackie Stanley; two brothers, Jack Hickman of Fort Supply; Gary Hickman and wife Sylvia of Holton, Kansas; sister-in-law, Marcelle Aitkens and husband Raymond of Wichita, Kansas; several other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Almeta Mae Latta; one brother, Robert Earl Hickman; as well as her mother and father-in-law.
