Judy Fanning, 73 year old Fort Supply resident, died Sunday, June 19, 2016 in the Alliance Health Woodward Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, June 23, 2016 in the Fort Supply Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Judith Rozann (Graham) Fanning was born on September 21, 1942 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to James Dwight and Cleo (Fowler) Graham. At a young age Judy and her parents relocated to Oklahoma City, where she attended school graduating from John Marshall High School with the class of 1960. Judy then attended the University of Oklahoma enrolling in the School of Nursing, where she earned her Registered Nursing Degree. Judy worked at Community Hospital and Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City before she accepted a nursing position at Western State Psychiatric Hospital in Fort Supply. Judy was united in marriage to Jerry Wayne Fanning at the Ellis County Court House in Arnett in 1977. Judy and Jerry made their home in Fort Supply and have remained there since. She retired from Western State in 1998 as Director of Nursing.
Judy and Jerry enjoyed traveling in their retirement and were fortunate to make many great memories camping, and fishing in several tournaments. She also enjoyed a good Bingo game. Judy loved her family and will be dearly missed by family and friends.
Judy is survived by her husband Jerry of the home; one daughter, Heather Sexton of Woodward; three sons, Randy Norris and wife Shelly of Skiatook; Bill Fanning and wife Kathryn of May; Tom Fanning and wife Michelle of May; daughter-in-law, Chris Fanning of Woodward; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one son Max Fanning.
