She grew up in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma where she met Russell Keele. They eloped with friends, Don Lanier and Lawana Aud and had a double wedding in Eureka Springs, AR on July 5, 1952. They made their home in Broken Arrow where they started their family. They had three daughters; Keena Lee, Paula Mae, and Margaret Ann. They lived in Broken Arrow and then later moved to Oklahoma City. After Harold's death Jackie moved to Woodward to be closer to her daughter Paula; and her family.

Jackie and Russell started talking again, and as fate would have it they remarried, and in 2004 made their home 4 miles Southeast of Woodward, in the Creekwood Springs Subdivision. This is where Creekwood Gardens was born.

Jackie helped Russell with all aspects of the garden. She helped pick and clean the produce and did all of the canning and baking up until 2013 when she physically wasn't able to anymore. She loved the garden but cooking was her real passion. She started the tradition of Sunday family dinners. In her younger days she was a stay at home mom and had an in home business decorating cakes.
