Herman Kehl, 81 year old Sharon, Oklahoma resident died Friday, September 9, 2016 at his home near Sharon. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, October 1, 2016 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Joe Arledge officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
Herman Joseph Kehl was born on July 28, 1935 in Woodward, Oklahoma the son of Ferdinand Joseph and Clotilda Caroline (Loch) Kehl. Herman attended school in Sharon and graduated from Sharon High School with the class of 1954. Herman then attended Oklahoma Panhandle A&M in Goodwell, Oklahoma.
Herman was inducted into the United States Army on August 28, 1957. He served overseas in Germany. Herman was honorably discharged on August 25, 1959. He returned home to Sharon and worked the family farm for the remainder of his life.
Herman enjoyed raising his cattle, farming, watching all sports, and attending the Woodward Travelers games at Fuller Park with his brother Raymond. Herman and Raymond enjoyed playing sandlot baseball and softball with some of the area men and boys. He also enjoyed being with his family.
He was a member of Saint Peters Catholic Church.
Herman is survived by several family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ferdinand and Clotilda; brother, Raymond; sisters, Adeline Moser; and Pauline Immenschuh.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Saint Peters Catholic Church with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
