Gordon was born July 3, 1924 to Sam and Lillie (Anderson) Lewis in Ft. Supply, OK. On April 6, 1947, he was united in marriage to Sue McMurry in Amarillo, TX. He honorably served his country in the US Army Air Force during WWII in Guam. Gordon was a longtime resident of Dumas, and owned and operated Lewis Plumbing and Heating. In his leisure time, he not only loved working in his yard but also golfing and fly-fishing. Gordon was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. PaPa taught us by example the meaning of unconditional love, patience, loyalty, and steadfastness. His guidance and devotion will be missed by all. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and two sisters. Gordon is survived by his wife, Sue of the home; three sons: Larry Lewis and wife Elaine of Amarillo, TX, Greg Lewis and wife Becky and Jerry Lewis and wife Janet all of Dumas; a daughter: Karen Charmasson and husband Mick of Woodward, OK; twelve grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members. The family suggest memorials be made to Memorial Hospice, 224 E 2nd, Dumas, TX 79029 or Cal Farley Boys Ranch, PO Box 1890, Amarillo, TX 79105. The family will be at 405 Bennett.
