Gayle's Story

Gayle Lynn Stone, 67 year old Woodward resident, died Monday, December 1, 2014 at his home in Woodward. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at the Elmwood Cemetery with the Reverend Mary Davis officiating. Burial will follow with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Gayle Lynn Stone was born on June 28, 1947 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Troy Floyd and Lettie Marie (Smith) Stone. Gayle grew up in Colorado Springs and graduated from high school there. He moved to Woodward in 1973 and has lived there since that time. Gayle was self employed and has been the owner operator of Gayle Stone Lawn Care for many years. He was always helping others in the community and would always lend a hand to anybody that needed help. He was a member of the St. John Episcopal Church in Woodward. Gayle enjoyed doing charity work and always devoted his time to the community. He was an avid collector of knifes, Indian artifacts, and all kinds of sports memorabilia. Gayle was a member of the Moose Lodge, the Elks Lodge, and the Ambucs. He was also involved in the American Red Cross. He is survived by his five children, Lisa Rene Stone Fazio of Seattle, Washington, Mark Lynn Mullen and his wife of Homosassa, Florida, Rocky Leach and wife Darcy of Ponca City, Jerome Lynn Stone and his wife of Bertram, Texas; Gayle’s brother and family, Troy Lynn Fullbright and wife Elaine of Woodward and their children, Sheree of Webster, Missouri and Stephanie of Woodward; six grandchildren; other relatives and many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, the Stoddard’s and the Martin’s and his two brothers, Leroy Stone and Andy Stone.
