Eldon Leroy Branstetter, 69 year old resident of Arnett, OK passed from this life on November 6, 2014 peacefully at his home. Eldon was born December 28, 1944 in Arnett to Harold Tinker and Ottilia (Tillie) Elizabeth Gesell Branstetter. Eldon was raised in the Arnett community, attending Arnett Public Schools through the 11th grade before joining Job Corp and moving to Florida. He worked harvesting wheat and corn for several years. He also worked in the oilfield and for Western State Hospital in Ft. Supply. Eldon then moved to Liberal, KS, working for National Beef before returning to Arnett, where he worked a short time in Shattuck for Venture Stores. Eldon was baptized as a young adult in the Baptist Church. He was a member of the Pentecostal Faith and attended various churches in Western Oklahoma. In his spare time, Eldon enjoyed fishing. He also loved all music. Eldon played the piano by ear, loved the drums, and later played the guitar and electric bass. He also loved singing gospel hymns with family and friends. Eldon was preceded in death by his parents, brother Donnie, sister Alice Lou, one niece and three nephews. He is survived by two brothers Jack Branstetter and wife Rita of Fargo, OK and Merrell Branstetter and wife Yvonne of Woodward, OK, five sisters JoAnn Cox of Woodward, OK, Judy Mackey and husband Wayne of Gage, OK, Lois Soliday and husband Bernard of Ft. Supply, OK, Peggy Eubanks of Edmond, OK and Marie Britt and husband Marty of Gage, OK; one aunt, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday at the Shaw Funeral Home Chapel in Arnett, OK with Pastor Jacob Russell presiding. Visitation will be held from 9 A.M. – 5 P.M. on Saturday, and 2-6 P. M. at Shaw Funeral Home of Arnett.
