Cladene's Story

Cladene L. Hunt was born on December 17th, 1932, in Vici, OK to John and Ella Webster. She passed from this life on Friday, November 6th, 2015 at the age of 82. She resided in Vici her entire childhood and attended school as a Vici Indian until her graduation in 1950. After graduation, she attended Beetch’s Beauty Academy in Enid, OK and completed the program in 1955. In January of 1956, she was united in marriage to Herman Gail Hunt in Clovis, New Mexico. Together they had four children, James, Frank, JoElla, and Janet. They started their lives together in Vici, OK, later moving to Weatherford, OK where Gail attended college at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. After his graduation, they moved to Elk City where she took care of their home and children. In May of 1960, the family moved to Shattuck, OK where they built their family home east of town, they resided there for the next 55 years. Their pride and joy was their family. Throughout their time in Shattuck, Cladene was the Director of Volunteers for the Newman Hospital Auxiliary, serving as a “Pink Lady” for 35 years. She was a member of the UMW, a member of the United Methodist Church serving as Communion Steward and Sunday school teacher and was an Eastern Star of the Shattuck Chapter. She volunteered numerous hours at the Helping Hearts Thrift Store and delivering for the Meals-On-Wheels program. After retirement, she was able to enjoy one of her favorite pastimes by keeping several of her grandkids and great-grandkids during the day. Her other pastimes included Sunday dinners with her family, reading the newspaper, crossword puzzles, reading her bible, playing pitch, dancing and playing Ol Saul. She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Herman Gail. Her father, John Webster, her mother and step-father Bill and Ella Johns. Her brother, John Webster and his wife Donnie. Her sister, Lois Blanchard. Her brother-in-law, Marvin Hunt, sister-in-law Geraldine Williamson, sister-in-law Mary Ann Berry, brother-in-law Lynn Williamson, sister-in-law Lee Hunt, daughter-in-law Barbara Hunt, and granddaughter Mandy Harrington. She is survived by sons, James Hunt of Garden Plain, KS; Frank Hunt and wife Sherry of Shattuck, OK; daughters JoElla Lennington and husband Jim of Fargo, OK; and Janet Albright of Shattuck, OK. Grandchildren Gina Huenergardt and husband Greg of Shattuck, OK; Clay Albright and wife Megan of Oklahoma City, OK; Kelsey Longhofer and husband Brenten of Shattuck, OK; Wes Molnar of Shattuck, OK; Jerrod Hunt of Delia, KS; John Hunt and wife Hope of Shawnee, KS; Lacey Laverty of Fargo, OK; and Christi Vaughan of Mooreland, OK. Brother, Harold Webster and wife Joan of Woodward, OK. Brothers-in-law, Bill Hunt and wife Janice of Cache, OK; Jimmy Hunt and wife Gayla of Woodward, OK; Jerry Hunt and wife Joni of Edmond, OK. Sisters-in-law, Margie McDonald and husband Lyman of Laramie, WY; Kay and Emery Miskel of Oklahoma City, OK; and Madeline Ethridge of Edmond, OK. Great-grandchildren Derek Harrington, McKayla Charmasson, Teagan Charmasson, Tate Charmasson, McKinlee Huenergardt, Milah Longhofer, Chandler Lennington, Reese Laverty, Hunter Vaughan, Kyrah Vaughan, Thad Molnar, Brittney Molnar, Faith Hunt, and Jack Hunt. And numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and great friends. Funeral services were held Monday November 9, 2015 at 11:00 am at the First United Methodist Church, Shattuck, Oklahoma with burial following at the Shattuck Memorial Cemetery, Shattuck, Oklahoma.
