Charlene Widener, 75 year old Mooreland resident died Friday, July 29, 2016 in the Grace Living Center in Buffalo. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Monday, August 8, 2016 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Phil Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery.

Betty Charlene (Schafer) Widener was born on November 5, 1940 in Canton, Oklahoma to Thaine Webster and Cynthia Vera (Garman) Schafer. Charlene was reared in Putnam, Oklahoma where she attended school. Charlene attended Putnam Schools. She was united in marriage to Wendell Lee Widener on August 4, 1957 at the Putnam Methodist Church. Charlene and Wendell made their first home in Guymon, where Wendell worked for the Hitch Ranch. Charlene and Wendell moved to Mooreland in 1979. Charlene worked in banking her entire working career, retiring from Central National Bank of Mooreland in October of 2015.
Charlene enjoyed gardening, sports of all kind, country music and her family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and going to all of their activities. Charlene enjoyed cooking her special orange rolls and loved her co-workers and the community of Mooreland.

She is survived by one son, Brad Widener of Mont Belvieu, Texas; two daughters, Cyndia Olson and husband Rick of Buffalo, Gailene Park and husband Steve of Van Buren, Arkansas; one sister Dorothy Clark of Taloga; nine grandchildren, Jennifer Thompson, Jackie McDaniel and husband Nik, Megan Park and Hunter Park, Brock and Bryan Widener, Lane Olson and wife Audra, Katy Hoyt and husband Ryan and Kallie Olson; seven great-grandchildren, Kohl, Jayden and Jantz Thompson, Preston and Emery McDaniel, Adalee Olson and Benaiah Hoyt; several nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Wendell Lee Widener, her parents, one brother Kenneth Schafer and a son-in-law, Jay Wilmeth.
