William's Story

Link Gribble, 67 year old Woodward resident, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2016 in Oklahoma City. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 10:00 am at the Billings Funeral Home Chapel. A private family burial will be at a later date.

William Lincoln Gribble was born on July 25, 1949 in Enid, Oklahoma to Robert William and Viola Mae (Fowler) Gribble. The family moved to Woodward in 1956 and Link attended Woodward Schools. He graduated from Woodward High School in 1969. Link made his home in Woodward, where he worked for the State of Oklahoma. He later worked for Triplett Oil Company and Kevin's Service until he retired.

Link spent his retirement years at the "office". He enjoyed being involved in the family horse racing business.

He is survived by four brothers, Tom Gribble and wife Dorma of Blanchard; Jim Gribble and wife Margene of Woodward; Bill Gribble of San Diego, California; Larry Gribble and wife Tooter of Woodward; four nieces, Stacy Hixson, Bobbie Cowan, Terri Gandy, Misty Hoover; four nephews, Chuck Snider, Bart Snider, Justin Gribble, Mike Gribble; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Viola Gribble, one sister, Shirley Snider, and one niece Tammy Walser.
