Victor E. Bailey, 85 year old Fairview resident, died Thursday, May 14, 2015 in the Fairview Regional Medical Center.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2015 in the Fairview Community Center with the Reverend Ray Schoonmaker officiating.  Interment will be in the Fargo Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. with the Billings Funeral Home in Woodward is in charge of arrangements. Victor Edwin Bailey was born on September 10, 1929 in Ellis County, Oklahoma to Loys Bryant and Margaretha Ellener (Toellner) Bailey.  Vic attended Fargo schools and graduated from Fargo High School.  He attended Panhandle A&M University and graduated from Northern Arizona University.  He received his Masters of Education from Oklahoma A&M.  Vic was accepted into Law School at Oklahoma City University and he received his Juris Doctor from Oklahoma City University. He was united in marriage to Mary Lou Ridgeway on September 15, 1962 at the First United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  They made their first home in Oklahoma City before moving to Fairview.  Vic was a school teacher in Follett, Texas and Oklahoma City before they moved to Fairview where he worked for Farmers Insurance Group.  He also served as City Judge for the City of Fairview for a number of years, and worked as an Attorney. Vic was a 32nd Degree Mason and was a long time member of the Oklahoma Bar Association. Vic and Mary Lou loved dancing, traveling and spending time with their horses.  He always enjoyed visiting with people. He is survived by his wife Mary Lou Bailey of the home in Fairview; one nephew, Raymond Pittman and wife Donna; two nieces, Cathy Odett and husband Brad; Melodie Price and husband Justin; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Lee Bailey, “Chuck” Laroy Bailey, Fred Bailey, and two sisters, Mahala Pittman and Ruth Story. Memorial contributions may be made to the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation, The Exceller Fund, the SPCA International or the charity of your choice with the funeral home accepting the contributions on behalf of the family.
