Twila Mae Smith was born on January 12, 1919 to George and Myrtle Nelson in Woodward, Oklahoma. She was born the 12th of 14 children, and was the last one to pass away at the age of 97 years. Twila was born and raised in Woodward. She was united in marriage to Virgil Roy Smith in Woodward on October 8, 1934. Twila and Virgil spent over 50 fun loving years together. Most of that time was spent at their family home in Woodward. To this union three children were born: Marlene, Rosalie, and Keith.

Twila prided herself in providing a loving home for her family. Twila and Virgil enjoyed life to the fullest. Twila loved spending time outdoors, camping and fishing. Twila was known for being afraid of the water. She would always wear her life belt, even when wading in shallow water. Believe it or not, she loved to water ski. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She took them camping and fishing hundreds of times. Twila loved getting together with family and friends, and she enjoyed any and all who came to visit. She touched countless lives with her smile and generosity. Anyone who knew Twila can account to this. She was preceded in death by her parents George and Myrtle Nelson, her children Marlene Powders, Rosalie Mooney, and Keith Smith, granddaughter Kelly McFarland, and her 13 siblings.

Twila is survived by her grandchildren, Steve Powders; Joe Powders and wife Debbie; Duane Mooney; Sheryl Ennis and husband Mike; Brenda Randolph and husband Steve; Jack Mooney and wife Christie; Rick Smith and wife Tina; 19 great grandchildren; 22 great-great grandchildren; 1 great-great-great grandchild; many other relatives and friends who will always remember her fun-loving personality.
