Toliver's Story

Sonny Summerall, Jr, 80 and his wife Carol Summerall, 77, died within a few days of each other in Oklahoma City. A memorial service to celebrate both of their lives will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the Billings Funeral Home Chapel. A private family burial will be held at a later date.

Carol Jean Goss was born on August 6, 1939 in Enid, Oklahoma to Harry Vernon and Viola Lillian (Dunn) Goss. Toliver Moore "Sonny" Summerall was born on December 22, 1935 in Ft. Myers, Florida to Toliver Moore Sr.and Lois Edith (Spearing) Summerall. Sonny was inducted in to the United States Air Force in 1954 and he was honorably discharged in 1958. Sonny and Carol were united in marriage on September 20, 1957 in Enid, Oklahoma. The family lived in Weatherford before moving to Woodward in 1970. Sonny was a Warehouse Manager for Pepsi, a carpenter and Maintenance Supervisor for OARC before his retirement.
Sonny and Carol were both active in the Moose Lodge.

They are survived by two sons: Steve Summerall and wife Barbara of Quito, Equador, Tony Summerall and wife Deana of Tulia, Texas; two daughters: Dacia Weeks and husband Craig of Perry, Stacy Burnett and Donnie Wines of Woodward; Sonny's brothers: Billy Summerall, Earl Summerall and wife Sue, Jimmy Summerall; Sonny's sisters: Judy Blacksten and husband Carl, Carol King; 16 grandchildren; 32 grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

They were preceded in death by their parents, siblings and four grandchildren.
