Thomas's Story

Thomas "Tom" Goff, Jr., 73 year old Woodward resident, died Thursday April 21, 2016 in Woodward. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at the Woodward Church of the Nazarene with the Reverend Shane Rackley officiating. Burial will follow in the Waynoka Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

Thomas C. Goff Jr. was born on December 20, 1942 in Waynoka, Oklahoma to Thomas C. and Verna Laverne (Hartely) Goff. Tom attended Waynoka schools and graduated from Waynoka High School in 1960. He was inducted into the United States Air Force in 1961 and served his country as an Airman First Class. Tom was honorably discharged in March of 1965.

Tom was united in marriage to Barbara Ellen Urban on March 16, 1963 in Spokane, Washington. They made their home in Spokane until 1965 when the moved to Waynoka. In 1976 the family moved to Woodward where they have lived since that time. While living in Waynoka, Tom worked for the Coop and the City of Waynoka until 1976. Tom worked for the City of Woodward until his retirement in 2010.

He was a member of the Woodward Church of the Nazarene. Tom loved being with his family and friends and he loved playing golf and pitching horseshoes. He was a 13 time state champion in horseshoes and was very proud of the fact that he had three holes in one and two in the last six months.

Tom is survived by his wife Barbara Goff of the home; one son, Timothy Goff and wife Teresa of Mooreland; two daughters, Lucinda Frisbie and husband Darrell of Proctor, Oklahoma, Rebecca Williams and husband Daman of Sand Springs; sisters, Faye Herbst of Waynoka, Ruth Ann Monroe and husband Jim of White Hall, Arkansas; nine grandchildren, Cynthia Frisbie, Josh Goff, Kegan Williams, Erica Frisbie, Mark Carpenter, Cindy Frisbie, Thomas Goff, Haley Goff, and Kaylynn Goff; two great-grandchildren, Sebastian Harvey and Wednesday Harvey; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Lorene Bradford.
