Sharon Kindred, 61 year old Woodward resident, died Friday, November 17, 2017 surrounded by her family at the Alliance Health Woodward. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2017 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery.
Sharon Kay (Dennis) Kindred was born October 19, 1956 in Wichita, Kansas; she was the daughter of James Edward and Janice G. (Tracy) Dennis. The family lived in Liberal, Kansas before moving to Milburn, Oklahoma. She attended school in Milburn and graduated from Milburn High School. Sharon was united in marriage to Donald Gale Kindred on March 1, 1974 in Temple, Oklahoma. They made their first home in Tishomingo before moving to Temple, Liberal and Woodward. Sharon worked at R5 Caps and Tees before going into business with Judy Evans at Stitch Witches. She also worked for Gores Travel Plaza.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Woodward. Sharon loved to read and she loved watching her granddaughter, Kaylee and Jacee dance. She also loved watching Michael play soccer. Sharon loved hanging out with Dalton and chasing Brooklynn around. She just loved spending time with her grandchildren and they will miss her dearly.
She is survived by her husband Donald Kindred of the home; two sons, Jody Kindred and wife Jennifer of Longview, Texas, Jason Kindred of Norman, Oklahoma; one daughter Jaymie Childers and husband Ron of Woodward; her mother Janice G. Dennis; two brothers, Rick Dennis of Woodward; Steve Dennis of Pecos, Texas; two sisters: Karen Trent of Elk City, Debbie Dunkin of Enid; five precious grandchildren: Dalton D.K.Kindred, Michael Dobson, Kaylee Dobson, Jacee Childers, Brooklynn Kindred; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Edward Dennis, granddaughter, Trinity Dawn Dobson, grandparents, Frank and Hilda Tracey, J.E. Dennis and Effa Lee.
