Mr. Doyle Douglas Stoner, 88, of Woodstock, GA passed away Thursday December 18, 2014 of an extended illness. Funeral services will be held Saturday December 20th 2014 at 2:00PM in the chapel of Macedonia Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Macedonia Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, December 19th 2014 from 3-5PM. Rev. Glenn Hannigan will officiate. Mr. Stoner was born in Randlett Oklahoma in 1926 to the late William Calvin Stoner and Edna Porterfield Stoner. Growing up in Oklahoma Mr. Stoner became an avid fisherman and hunter where he spent many hours hunting quail and duck. Along with hunting and fishing Mr. Stoner enjoyed stock car racing. He served his country in the United States Army, spending 1954-1956 in Japan during the Korean War. After his service to his country Mr. Stoner worked as a roughneck in the oilfields for 9 years before moving into an office as a supervisor for W.R. Grace Oil Company. Mr. Stoner and his wife of 64 years Izetta Stoner attended Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Roswell after moving to Georgia in 2004. Mr. Stoner is preceded in death by his parents William and Edna Jewell Stoner, brother Calvin Stoner and sister Corinnia Stoner Goates. Mr. Stoner is survived by his wife of 64 years Izetta Russell Stoner. Son and daughter-in-law Ricky and Lynda Stoner of Woodstock. Grandson Justin Stoner of Woodstock.
