Mary's Story

Mary Snider, 70 year old Woodward resident, died Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at her home in Woodward, surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 24, 2016 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Lee Oran Stinson officiating. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery.

Mary Lou (Denton) Snider was born on November 27, 1945 in Laverne, Oklahoma to Robert and Georgia Estelle (Ellison) Denton. She grew up in Laverne and Buffalo and attended Buffalo schools. Mary was united in marriage to Donald Gene Snider on June 21, 1963 in Buffalo, Oklahoma. They made their home in Buffalo before moving to Woodward later on. To this union were born three children, Todd Anthony Snider, Leah Dawn (Snider) Tindell, and Brian Snider and in later years adopted and raised their granddaughter Errin Jessica (Snider) Spencer. Mary was a loving wife, mom and grams who will be remembered for her keen sense of style, love of Jesus, great ghost stories and wonderful cooking. She was a Fashionista!! She loved shopping for the kids and grandkids. Nothing brought her more joy than giving her grandkids gifts and spending quality time with them. Mary loved playing Bingo and going to the Casino with her sisters. She also enjoyed her time working at the Mooreland Heritage Manor.

She will be deeply missed, but her legacy will live on through the lives and hearts of those touched and cherished.

She is survived by her husband of almost 53 years, Donald Snider of the home; two sons, Todd Snider of Woodward, Brian Snider and wife Tara of Woodward; one daughter Leah Tindell and husband Darren of Woodward; sisters, Clara and Ronnie Duble of Del City; Rita and Gary Ladd of Buffalo; grandchildren, Cody and Errin Spencer, who was more like a daughter to Mary; Josh and Alex Tindell, Darren Tindell, Tanner and Courtney Tindell, Jace Snider, Brittnee and Baylee Snider; great-grandchildren, Ayden, Cayde, Jaydon, Cy, Lux and Stoney Spencer, Madilynn and Wyatt Tindell, Matthew Tindell; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Estelle "Trixie" Denton, her sisters, Bonnie Denton, Betty Martin, Billie Barton; brothers, Bobby Denton, Carl Denton; nephews, Jackie Lambkin, Terry Denton, Randy Denton, Troy Duble, George Denton; nieces, Mandy Bialczyk, Mindy Denton.
