Louise's Story

Louise Atwell, 84 year old Woodward resident, died Wednesday, October 11, 2017 in Woodward. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 13, 2017 at the Elmwood Cemetery with Reverend Scott Ware officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

Patricia Louise (Ball) Atwell was born on August 11, 1933 in Sharon, Oklahoma to Willard John and Stella Grace (Mathews) Ball. She grew up on the family farm around Sharon, Oklahoma. She attended Sharon schools and graduated from Sharon High School. Louise was united in marriage to Virgil Atwell in Clayton, New Mexico. Louise worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone from 1952 until the office closed in 1978.

She loved working outside and taking care of her cattle and spending time with her dog Katie. Louise loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband Virgil Atwell; one daughter, Connie Ogden and husband Jim of Woodward; one sister Lyndell Vassar and husband Kenneth; one grandson Tracy Kimbro and wife Bethany; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Stella Ball, brothers and sisters: Eugene Ball, Wilbur Ball, Margaret Mitch, Georgia Churchill, and Bonnie Caldwell.
