Lola Faye (Blalock) Riddle, the daughter of D.M. and Letha (Brownen) Blalock, was born on May 23, 1937 in Anadarko, Oklahoma. After 80 joyful years of life, she departed for her Heavenly home on December 6, 2017, from Mooreland, Oklahoma. Lola Faye grew up and attended school in Anadarko, Oklahoma where she met Luther Riddle, whom she married on June 25, 1955. Early in their union, the two lived in many places together, among them were
Colorado, New Mexico, and Oklahoma City. During these years the couple had two children, Desiree and Rick. After traveling the country for several years the two settled in Woodward, where she lived until her death.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Woodward and a beloved member of the Woodward community, constantly bringing joy to those around her with her energetic nature and gleeful soul. Lola Faye was always a hard working lady, whether in her favorite retail store or out in her garden, she would never leave a job less than finished or less than perfect. She loved to cook, cross-stitch, and sew the most beautiful quilts, but she was undoubtedly happiest spending time with her grandkids, family, and friends.
Lola Faye was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers: John, Ted, Nelson, L.W. Bully, David and Bill; and two sisters, Mona Furman and Viola Luchen. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Desiree and John Morgan, their children Jacob Armstrong and Jessie Morgan; son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Berylene Riddle, their children Sara and Wade Matherly, Chad and Lindsey Riddle; four great-grandchildren, Rylan and Audrey Matherly, and Presley and Payton Riddle; and two sisters-in-law Ruby Blalock and Dorthea Blalock.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 9, 2017 in the Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko, Oklahoma. Burial will follow with the Billings Funeral Home, Woodward in charge of arrangements.
