Linda Catlin, 68 year old Mutual resident died Friday, December 16, 2016 in Oklahoma City. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, December 22, 2016 in the Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church, 5th Street Campus with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Linda Jolene (Griffith) Catlin of Mutual, Oklahoma, daughter of Harlan Eugene "Jiggs" Griffith and Juanita Jewel (Arrington) Griffith, was born on October 5, 1948. Linda was born the eldest of seven children. She was raised in Moscow Flats and attended high school in Mooreland. After graduating high school, Linda went to college at Draughon's College, graduating with a business degree. She then took a job with AT&T, first climbing telephone poles to install new lines and later working as a phone operator, spending 23 years with the company in all. Later in life Linda worked in sales but most enjoyed her time providing home health care for the elderly.
She met her husband, Raymond Scott Catlin, in 1972 in California. They had two children, Geoffrey in 1979 and Michael in 1981 before they divorced in 1997. She lived in California, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Colorado, Arkansas and eventually found her way back to Oklahoma.
Linda loved arts and crafts, going fishing, and Oklahoma football. Her favorite past time was cooking, she collected hundreds of cookbooks and loved nothing more than preparing a large meal for her family.
Linda is survived by her two sons, her sisters Sharon Clem and her husband Mark, Karen Long, Norma Lowther and her husband Donny, her brother Hugh Griffith and his wife Colleen, many nieces and nephews and countless friends. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, her brother Terry Griffith, her sister Lois Penrice, her niece Amy Lynn (Robinson) Wheelright and her nephew Mike Carter.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Billings Funeral Home on the families behalf.
