Katherine “Kay Dauphin, 74 year old Mooreland resident, died Friday, June 26, 2015 in the Mooreland Heritage Manor. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2015 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with Father Joe Arledge officiating. Burial will follow in the Mooreland Cemetery. Katherine Ann (Conaughty) Dauphin was born on January 4, 1941 in Auburn, New York to Eugene and Bernice “Bernie” (Brewester) Conaughty. Kay grew up in Auburn, New York and attended Catholic school there. She later graduated from nursing school in Virginia. Kay was united in marriage to Gerald “Jerry” Dauphin in El Paso, Texas on March 4, 1976. They made their home in several different places including Ft. Bliss, Texas, where Kay worked at Ft. Bliss Military Hospital, Colorado Springs, Colorado, Liberal, Kansas where Kay worked at the Liberal Hospital, Beaver, Oklahoma where Kay worked at the Beaver Hospital. They moved to Mooreland in May of 1979 and they have lived there since that time. Kay attended the Catholic church. In her younger years she enjoyed roller skating and she also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, knitting, quilting, fishing, and every once in a while pulled a slot machine handle. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Dauphin of the home in Mooreland; two daughters, Vanessa Ann Friday and husband Terry, Jacqueline “Jackie” Hall and husband Marty; brother, John “Jack” Conaughty and wife Kathy, Jean Conaughty; sister-in-law, Jean Conaughty who was the wife of Dick Conaughty; four grandchildren, Keona Bean, Star Aubrswald, Austin Wilson, and Erica Sessions; eight great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Bernice Conaughty and one brother Richard “Dick” Conaughty. Remembrances may be shared online at www.billingsfuneralhomewoodward.com
