John Milton Bouquot


John M. Bouquot, 83 year old Mooreland resident, passed away Friday, August 23, 2019 in Oklahoma City. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mooreland with Reverend Joe Arledge officiating. Burial of the ashes will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Mooreland. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

John Milton Bouquot was born on January 5, 1936 in Mooreland, Oklahoma to John Edward and Frieda Marie (Gire) Bouquot. John attended Mooreland schools and graduated from Mooreland High School in 1954. He received his Bachelors degree from Northwestern Oklahoma State University in 1959 and received his Masters in Elementary Administration in 1969. He taught school at Curtis, Oklahoma, Wilmore, Kansas, Coldwater, Kansas and Mooreland. After his retirement John managed convenience stores and he later worked at Ace Hardware.

He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Mooreland. John collected owls, loved to watch sports of any kind, but most of all he loved being with his family. He loved teaching children, caring for people and his family.

He is survived by his sister Frieda Alig and husband Jim of Okarche; nephews: Mark Alig, Ed Alig and wife Shelley, Dan Alig and wife Waynette; niece: Jamie Maass and husband Kevin all of Okarche; 14 great nieces and nephews and 10 great-great nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Frieda Bouquot, brother James Bouquot, sister Mary Ellen Bouquot and his beloved dog Fritz.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the funeral home accepting the donations.
