Jo Anna Gardner, 82 year old resident of Mooreland, died Thursday, December 29, 2016 in Woodward. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 2, 2017 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Scott Ware officiating. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

Jo Anna Gardner was born April 17, 1934 at Fort Supply, Oklahoma; she was the daughter of Harold Leslie and Lora Elfreida (Teeters) Gardner. JoAnna grew up on the homeplace, North of Quinlan. She attended and graduated from Quinlan High School in 1952. In 1958, Jo Anna received her degree from Panhandle State University in Goodwell, Oklahoma, formerly know as Panhandle A & M. Following graduation, she lived in Enid while working at Vance Air Force Base, then Oklahoma City working for the Federal Aviation Administration. She retired in 1980.

Jo Anna enjoyed watching sports and keeping up with current events, and traveling. She also enjoyed writing letters and clipping newspaper articles, sharing with family and friends. Most of all, she enjoyed her family and friends.

She was a member of the Christian Church.

Jo Anna is survived by her sister, Sondra Moore; nieces and nephews, Trent Moore and wife Pam; Kelie Rutledge Grounds and husband Chris; Travis Rutledge and wife Lisa; Tonja Mead and husband Pat; Candace Faulkner and husband Steven; Chandra Bradley and husband George; 12 great nieces and nephews; 10 great great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Elfreida Gardner; sister, Jean Rutledge; two brothers-in-law, Carl Duane Rutledge; Jim Moore; nephew Tracy Rutledge; great nephew, Seth Rutledge; other family and many friends.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Sooner Chapter, with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
